Terminating a common envelope jets supernova impostor event with a super-Eddington blue supergiant

چکیده

We conducted one-dimensional stellar evolutionary numerical simulations to build blue supergiant models with a very low-envelope mass and super-Eddington luminosity of 10^7Lo that mimic the last phase common envelope evolution (CEE) where neutron star (NS) accretes from launches jets power system. Common supernovae (CEJSNe) are CEE transient events NS spirals-in inside then core red (RSG) event. In case (or black hole) does not enter RSG event is CEJSN-impostor. propose in some cases CEJSN-impostor might end such lasting for several years few tens years. The radius about hundreds solar radii. use simple prescription deposit energy into envelope. find expected accretion rate onto at allows be as we assume, 10^7Lo. Such low-mass envelope, or rebuilt fallback. Our study termination adds rich variety transients CEJSNe CEJSN-impostors form.

Sgr – Super - Eddington source enshrouded by an extended envelope

An optical spectroscopy of an unusual fast transient V4641 Sgr constrains its mass to 8.7-11.7M (9.6M is the best fit value) and the distance to 7.4–12.3 kpc (Orosz et al. 2001). At this distance the peak flux of 12 Crab in the 2–12 keV energy band, measured by ASM/RXTE, implies the X-ray luminosity exceeding 2−3 ·1039 erg/s, i.e. near or above the Eddington limit for a 9.6M black hole. An opti...

Supernova shock breakout from a red supergiant.

Massive stars undergo a violent death when the supply of nuclear fuel in their cores is exhausted, resulting in a catastrophic "core-collapse" supernova. Such events are usually only detected at least a few days after the star has exploded. Observations of the supernova SNLS-04D2dc with the Galaxy Evolution Explorer space telescope reveal a radiative precursor from the supernova shock before th...

The Jets and Disc of SS 433 at Super-Eddington Luminosities

We examine the jets and the disc of SS 433 at super-Eddington luminosities with Ṁ ∼ 600Ṁc by time-dependent two-dimensional radiation hydrodynamical calculations, assuming α-model for the viscosity. One-dimensional supercritical accretion disc models with mass loss or advection are used as the initial configurations of the disc. As a result, from the initial advective disc models with α =0.001 ...

Blue jets and gigantic jets

An overview of general phenomenology and proposed physical mechanisms of large scale electrical discharges termed ‘blue jets’ and ‘gigantic jets’ observed at high altitude in the Earth’s atmosphere above thunderstorms is presented. The primary emphasis is placed on summarizing available experimental data on the observed morphological features of upward jet discharges and on the discussion of re...

TYC 3159-6-1: a runaway blue supergiant

We report the results of optical spectroscopy of a candidate evolved massive star in the CygnusX region, TYC 3159-6-1, revealed via detection of its curious circumstellar nebula in archival data of the Spitzer Space Telescope. We classify TYC 3159-6-1 as an O9.5−O9.7 Ib star and derive its fundamental parameters by using the stellar atmosphere code FASTWIND. The He and CNO abundances in the pho...
